Join Barefoot Books authors, Stacy Clark and Christy Mihaly, as they discuss climate change, renewable energies, and steps caretakers can take to empower children to take part in protecting our natural resources. A nature lover, environmental geologist, educator and climate journalist, Stacy Clark enjoys distilling science into lively rhymes for young readers. Author Christy Mihaly, also a nature lover, writes for kids because she believes that our best hope for the future is raising young people who love to read and giving them the knowledge and skills to lead. Echoing Discovery Museum’s themes around renewal, connection, and action, this timely webinar will provide an opportunity to learn ways to help support the young activists in your life and take steps towards making a difference!
About the speakers:
An environmental geologist, nature lover, educator and climate journalist, Stacy Clark enjoys distilling science into lively rhymes for young readers. Working between New York City and Dallas, Texas, she is inspired by the awesome potential of renewable energy to transform the way that countries around the world are powered. She loves exploring Central Park with her dog, Luna, and cycling along scenic trails and coastlines with her family.
Christy Mihaly has written more than 25 children's books, mostly nonfiction. She has degrees in policy studies, environmental studies and law from Dartmouth College and the University of California, Berkeley. She lives with her family in Vermont, where she enjoys the inspiration of the changing seasons and the endless varieties of New England precipitation.
